Privacy Policy
Last updated 25 October 2026
VIA (Video Intelligence Assistant) is operated by Hungry Passport Media, Inc., 4225 Solano Ave., Suite 631, Napa, CA 94558, USA, which is the controller of the personal data described here. This policy covers both viaforcreators.com and the VIA private beta. We collect the least we can, we do not sell anything about you, and this page names the companies that process your data for us and why.
1. What we collect
Your beta application. When you apply, we receive the email address you enter, the kind of video you make, how much you publish, the tier you are interested in and any note you add. We use them to review your application and to reply to you. Nothing else on the form is required, and you should not send passwords, payment-card numbers or government identification.
Your account, once the beta app opens to you. An account holds your name, email address and the settings and preferences you choose. If you buy credits or a plan, Stripe collects your payment details; we receive only what Stripe tells us about the payment (amount, date, billing email and country, card brand and last four digits), never the full card number.
"Email me when it's done". Only if you tap it on a video, we email the address you sign in with when that video is finished, and once more if it stops to wait for a decision only you can make. Then the request is forgotten. The email holds the video's title and a link that needs signing in, and nothing that tracks you. It is never turned on for you, Undo turns it off, and a request with no finished video after 7 days is dropped.
Your production content. This is the heart of it: the scripts you paste, the reference images you upload, the characters, locations and style you approve, your notes and rejections, and everything VIA produces from them — shot descriptions, still images, video clips, narration audio and the assembled film. We store this so your production still exists tomorrow, and we process it to produce your video. Section 3 says exactly which parts of it leave our systems.
Technical data. Our site and app are delivered and protected by Cloudflare, which processes limited technical data such as IP address, browser type, requested pages and security events to keep the service available and to stop abuse. We use Fathom Analytics for site statistics: it is cookieless, collects no personal data, does not fingerprint visitors and does not follow you to other websites. We run no advertising trackers.
2. How we use it
- To review your beta application and reply to you
- To run the production you asked for: writing shots, drawing stills, animating clips, generating narration, assembling the film
- To operate, secure, debug and improve the service, and to work out what a production costs us
- To contact you about your beta, service changes and, if you agree, occasional product news
- To comply with law and to enforce our Terms
We do not train AI models on your content. We do not build models, and we do not hand your scripts, references or videos to anyone to train theirs. We do look at our own aggregate production statistics — how many retakes a scene needed, what a minute cost — to make the engine better and cheaper.
3. The AI providers that process your content
VIA does not generate images, video or voice itself. It writes the instructions and sends them to specialist model providers, which act as our processors. This is what goes where:
| Provider | Processes | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| OpenAI United States | Script analysis, scene and shot descriptions, still images and the checks run on each shot, when these are not run on Microsoft Azure; web research on a story’s setting, places and period. | Your script text, shot descriptions and reference images; for research, the setting, places and period drawn from your script. |
| MiniMax (Hailuo) Singapore / China | Animating an approved still into a video clip. | The approved still image and the motion description written for it. |
| xAI (Grok) United States | Image and video generation for shots routed to that model. | Prompts and reference images for those shots. |
| fal.ai United States | Hosted access to some image and video models. | Prompts and reference images for those shots; for a talking clip, the clip and its narration audio. |
| ElevenLabs United States | Turning narration lines into voice-over audio. | Narration text and the voice settings you choose. |
| Microsoft Azure United States; for AI models, also other countries where Microsoft runs them (such as Sweden, Poland and the United Arab Emirates) | Running the AI models (Azure OpenAI) that analyse scripts, write scene and shot descriptions, draw still images and check shots; hosting the VIA app and your productions, keeping their backups, the records of payments and access, and sending account emails (sign-in links, password resets, and the email you ask for when a video is finished). | Everything you keep in VIA: scripts, references, stills, clips, narration; your email address. The AI models receive your script text, shot descriptions and reference images. |
| Stripe United States | Taking payments for credits and plans, invoices, and the page where you manage a plan. | Your name, email, billing address and payment details. Card numbers go to Stripe, never to us. |
| Cloudflare United States (global network) | Hosting, delivery, security and email routing for this website. | Technical request data; the contents of the beta application form. |
| Fathom Analytics (Conva Ventures Inc.) Canada | Cookieless website statistics. | Aggregate page views and referrers. No personal data, no cookies, no cross-site tracking. |
| Google (Gmail / Workspace) United States | The inbox that receives beta applications and carries our replies; "Continue with Google" sign-in. | Your email address and what you wrote to us. For Google sign-in, only your verified email address. |
Each provider handles your content under its own API terms. Most say they do not use API content to train their models, and some keep inputs and outputs for a short time for abuse monitoring (OpenAI, for example, for up to 30 days). If you need a specific provider kept out of your production, write to us.
We may also disclose information to professional advisors, or to authorities, when reasonably necessary to comply with law, prevent fraud or protect our rights or someone's safety. If VIA is ever sold or merged, your data may transfer with the business, and this policy travels with it until you are told otherwise.
4. Faces and voices
VIA is built for invented characters, not for real people. Do not upload photographs of a real person, or a recording of a real person's voice, unless you have their written consent, and never for a public figure to say or do something they did not. If you send us biometric-grade material anyway, we treat it as your content under this policy, but you are the one responsible for having the right to send it, and we will delete it on request. See Acceptable use.
5. We do not sell your data
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural or targeted advertising, as those terms are defined under California law. We use no advertising pixels. If this ever changes we will update this page and give any notice or choice the law requires.
6. Legal bases (EU / UK)
If you are in the EU or UK we rely on: contract, to provide the beta, produce the videos you ask for and send the emails you ask for about them; legitimate interests, to secure the service, prevent abuse, understand our costs and reply to an enquiry you started; consent, where the law requires it, for example optional product emails, which you can withdraw at any time; and legal obligation, for records we must keep. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests at any time.
7. International transfers
We are a US company and our providers process data in the United States, Canada, for video generation Singapore and China, and, for AI models run on Microsoft Azure, other countries where Microsoft runs them, such as Sweden, Poland and the United Arab Emirates. If you are in the EEA or UK, that means your content may be processed outside your country. Where required we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK Addendum in our providers' data-processing agreements. If the Singapore/China routing matters to your production, write to us.
8. How long we keep things
- Beta applications: up to 24 months, so we can come back to you when a place opens, unless you ask us to delete sooner.
- Production content: for as long as your studio is open. When you delete a production or close a studio, we delete it, and it leaves our backup copies within 90 days.
- If the beta ends: we will give you notice and time to export your productions before we delete them.
- Your sign-in: your email address and sign-in details are deleted within 90 days after the last studio you belong to is closed.
- Payment records: as long as tax and accounting law requires, usually seven years. They hold amounts and dates, never your scripts or films.
- Security logs: up to twelve months.
9. Security
We protect your content with safeguards suited to it, including encryption in transit and at rest, separation between customer studios, two-step sign-in and an access log for VIA's administrators, and regular backups. Passwords are stored only as salted one-way hashes, and card numbers go to Stripe, never to us. We do not open a studio's productions except when its owner asks us for help, to keep the service running, or when the law requires it.
No system can be guaranteed completely secure, and VIA is beta software. Keep your own copy of any script that matters to you.
10. Your rights
Everyone. Ask us to show you, correct or delete what we hold, or to stop emailing you, by writing to [email protected]. We reply within the time the law sets, and we do not ask why.
California (CCPA/CPRA). You have the right to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collect and why, to a copy, to correction, to deletion, to limit the use of sensitive personal information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising any of them. We do not sell or share personal information, so no opt-out is needed for that to stop, and we honour the Global Privacy Control signal.
EU / UK (GDPR). You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability, and the right to withdraw consent. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
11. Cookies
This website sets no analytics or advertising cookies: Fathom is cookieless, so there is no cookie banner to click. Cloudflare may set cookies strictly necessary for security. The beta app sets a session cookie so you stay signed in; it is necessary for the app to work at all.
12. Children
VIA is for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has sent us something, tell us and we will delete it.
13. Changes and contact
We will update this policy when our providers, our product or the law change, and post the new version here with a new date. If a change is material, we will let members know. Questions and privacy requests go to Hungry Passport Media, Inc., 4225 Solano Ave., Suite 631, Napa, CA 94558, USA, or [email protected].
